Born in Miami, FL, Al-Baari received her Bachelor of Arts in Culture and Media at The New School University, New York, N.Y. in 2016. She cultivated her own brand, Zona Baari, through

which she has been selling one-of-a-kind metal, textile, and ceramic accessories and home decor both online and in boutiques nationwide, since 2018. Her most recent focus has been on defining her own contemporary interpretation of traditional coffee ceremony ceramics that stem from her Ethiopian-American heritage. The coffee ceremony, for her, is an activity of ritualized communal leisure, a custom representative of the essence of her brand, suggesting an invitation for pause and appreciation of beauty and comfort.

She completes her Master of Fine Arts degree in Ceramics at Cranbrook Academy of Art (CAA) in the spring of 2024.
