Reuben Telushkin
Origin: Amherst, MA, USA
Birth Year: 1988
Reuben Telushkin (1988) is an audiovisual artist and researcher working in the overlap of sequential art, sound, motion graphics, and sculpture. Raised by lesbians of Afro-Jewish heritage at the turn of the 21st century, Telushkin explores technology and media’s role in social movements and identity politics since the digital turn. Often deploying “obsolete” technology in a mode outside its intended design or context, or hybridizing disciplines in improbable combos, Telushkin creates interdisciplinary objects and experiences that place incongruent histories in critical conversation, engaging the recent past to speculate upon an accelerating present. Originally from Amherst, MA, where he earned a BA in Studio Arts from Hampshire College, Telushkin is currently based in Detroit, MI, pursuing an MFA in 4D Design at Cranbrook Academy of Art.
