IK-A makes things. Their art/design practice investigates the objects and infrastructures that shape our environments and movements. Seeing things and the built environment as materializations of our values and entanglements, IK-A works across scales primarily in the medium of furniture and objects. Informed by craft traditions and the practical values of their rural upbringing, IK-A employs misuse and reuse as methodologies for reimagining and remaking the known world. In this way, making becomes a gesture of hope and connection, asking the user to engage, to consider the built world as a space of aliveness and change.
