To see gleaming hot or melting metal is irresistible to me, and there, one can truly see a material embodying the powers of the universe. I am drawn to materials that convey elementality and carry a certain timelessness and eternality. I feel ethereal qualities are connected to metal and glass, which I also bridge with queries about the origin of our world and human life.

Embedded into the search is yet a curious mix of necessity and futility: after eons of questions and equally many answers, the beginning remains a matter of belief. I approach this condition through materials that note aspects typical of life, such as fragility, uncertainty, and beliefs.
