FreyA Chufei Yang was born in Beijing, China. After receiving her early training in Jewelry Design at Nanjing University of Art, Yang attended Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan for the MFA program in Metalsmithing. The creative idea for her artwork is based on her personal perception of emotions in her life, and most of the artwork she creates is presented in the form of a combination of mixed materials. Yang embraces void, passes through the rules and order, explores spaces, fissures, barriers and boundaries between the physical and psychological levels—creating art in a reasonable yet unexpected form of expression.
